WINTER OF DISCONTENT: Q
Everyone gets naked and shags a lot
in Laurent Bouhnik’s ‘Q’, a film where
the camera lingers on bush and cock
and privacy clearly doesn’t matter a jot.
(Someone tell the DoP it’s impolite to stare!)
Everyone gets naked and shags a lot
and you’re cajoled into thinking it’s a sort
of empty pleasure/bankrupt economy metaphor:
the camera lingers on bush and cock
with the dispassion of a grey accountant
obsessed with figures, who tries not to care
that he never gets naked or shags a lot.
It’s a mistake to think this is porn; it’s not.
Just to prove something arty’s going on here,
the camera lingers on bush and cock
while everyone spouts pretentious rot,
because this is art-house – world cinema, y’hear:
everyone gets naked and shags a lot
and the camera lingers on bush and cock.
NSFW ‘Q’ image gallery after the jump.
